Prep time: 10 minutes | Yield: 3–4 servings
Ingredients
Fruit Base:
1 white-fleshed dragon fruit (pitaya), peeled and cubed
2–3 tbsp condensed milk or simple syrup (adjust to taste)
Liquid Base:
2 cups milk (whole milk, coconut milk, or oat milk work best)
1/2 tsp vanilla extract
Texture Boost (Optional):
1 tbsp basil seeds (sabja) or chia seeds soaked in 1/2 cup warm water for 10 minutes
Instructions
1. Blend the Fruit: In a blender, combine the diced white dragon fruit, condensed milk, and a small splash of milk. Pulse lightly until smooth—take care not to over-blend if you want to keep the tiny black seeds visible.
2. Combine Base: Pour the blended dragon fruit puree into a pitcher or pot. Stir in the remaining milk, vanilla extract, and soaked basil or chia seeds until thoroughly combined.
3. Chill: Transfer the liquid into sealable glass jars or bottles and chill in the refrigerator for at least 1 hour.
4. Serve: Shake well before pouring into glasses over ice.
