Classic Fresh Peach Cobbler

Ingredients

Filling:

4 cups fresh sliced peaches (about 4–5 medium peaches, peeled or unpeeled)

 1/2 cup granulated sugar

 1 tbsp lemon juice

 1 tsp ground cinnamon

 1 tbsp cornstarch

Topping & Crust:

 1 cup all-purpose flour

 1 cup granulated sugar

 1 tsp baking powder

 1/2 tsp salt

 1 large egg, beaten

1/2 cup (1 stick) unsalted butter, melted

 Powdered sugar (optional, for dusting)

Instructions

1. Prep the Oven: Preheat your oven to 375°F (190°C) and lightly grease a 9-inch deep-pie dish or baking dish.

2. Prepare the Peaches: In a bowl, gently toss

the sliced peaches with 1/2 cup sugar, lemon juice, cinnamon, and cornstarch. Transfer the mixture directly into your greased baking dish, spreading it into an even layer.

3. Make the Topping: In a separate bowl, whisk together the flour, 1 cup sugar, baking powder, and salt. Stir in the beaten egg until the mixture becomes coarse and crumbly.

4. Assemble: Evenly scatter the crumbly flour mixture over the top of the sliced peaches. Pour the melted butter evenly over the entire top layer.

5. Bake: Bake for 35–45 minutes until the peach filling is bubbling around the edges and the top crust turns golden brown and crisp.

6. Serve: Let it cool for 10 minutes, lightly dust with powdered sugar if desired, and serve warm with a scoop of vanilla ice cream.
