Clear and Prep: Throw away large food scraps into the trash first to avoid clogging the drain. Group like items together—stack plates by size, gather mugs, and pull out cutlery.
Soak the Heavy Hitters: Fill the dirty pots and pans with hot water and dish soap, setting them aside to soak while you handle the rest.
Order of Washing (Cleanest to Dirtiest):
1. Glassware & Cups: Wash coffee mugs and drinkware first while the rinse water is totally fresh.
2. Flatware & Cutlery: Clean utensils next so they don’t get lost under big plates.
3. Plates & Bowls: Scrub down the stacks of floral plates and small bowls.
4. Pots & Cookware: Finish off with the soaked pots and pans on the stove.
Drying Strategy: Clear a drying rack area or lay down clean towels to accommodate everything as you rinse.
